Jake`s update 12.5

Jussi !  You wrote I was in agony when you played that crap with your 55-string monster. That is wrong, after all I really liked what ya did for that song. So here s the credit for you, you materfakin spaidermanki: You were really good in studio. Otherwise you suck. J. Guitar playing day was up next and after some tuning and setting up sounds and stuff, we started hitting all in. I think it all went pretty well, cause for 5 songs we used like 6 hours. Olli was there for a moment too which was nice surprise. He even helped me play one “tilulilulilu”-part, which only steve vai and that kinda guys can do. Wonderful two days in studio and during those days and few after W stayed for few days in my mansion. We had lots of laughs and bad stories to share. Thanks W, there s a small place in my sofa always for you, you goddamn ricestick. Monday 21^st will be the day, when W starts kicking and screaming. This project has gone faster than we thought. Anyway, we will not give any comments not officially or unofficially when this will be ready. We do not have schedule, just the next session is known. Opa was asked to come for screaming sessions, because he has nice ideas. Very rarely though. J. Bring in more, Hapokas. Haven t spoken with the singer for few days about music, i am excited what words he will put after the other. I can tell that my river is bit dry at the moment for that show. I am trying but lyrics and music don t come out forcing. I am excited. Cant wait to go back to studio.

Jussi`s update

Ok, so we went to studio 33 before Olli`s drum recording to have a short practice session to check if we can still play. Didn’t sound too bad + we were able to pull some ideas for the songs. After we finished playing we drowe to my brothers house for some reason and journey to the great hangover began. My wife + beavis and butthead had organisized a surprise party for my birthday. I had great fun so thanx for everybody. After couple of weeks we went to studio to record bass guitar tracks. And i had hangover again thanx to out national antoxicant consumption day (labour day). Anyway, it didn’t took too long to get the lines recorded. And it sounded pretty good to me. I was even allowed to use my new 5-string for “waisting my time”. I noticed that Jake was in agony during that particular time. But the song needed some deeper basslines and really didn’t ask he’s permission  So all in all i can’t wait to hear the mangnum opus. Z

22.4. Jake`s Update“It s been hell of a hard life…”

You all three persons who are reading this know I wanna write about the greatest love in our songs, dammit, I made like 10 love song demos for this ep, but none of them will be released, we ll let Bon Jovi or Sunrise Avenue do those in much better (?) way. Love songs … maybe in ten years when we make Jumping Twins-comeback. Hahah, never. Well, you ve heard me say never to many things before…I am really the man that can not say “never” ever.

It sounds like there s not much love in life at the moment (maybe just the K-boy-love between all of us) when  I look at the “lyric” box. So sorry, we ll have no true love songs this time, I think. But lots of fun instead !

Last 3 weeks we ve been throwing the ball to each other about what it is going to be this time. We have lots of cool lines written down already that have no sense, but those lines sound good so wtf. This time, again, we will not try to please anyone else but us.

This week we will practise some bass and guitar-playing, second of May lots of stuff must be ready.

I played demo guitar or supportive guitar for Olli when he was banging on drums. Olli was so pro, that my mouth was left open for a week (again). My “guitar tracks” were recorded for Jussi to help him in his battle. Knowing my skills…my demotracks will just annoy him. He will face that crap on the 1st of May.

I am fan of our music again, had my doubts for this but…

I hear this crap ready in my small head and it is exploding, I cannot find substitute…

I love my time with these closet rockers, these guys are my second family (luckily not from same blood and liquids).

Brothers and sisters, we (try to) rock again!

20.4.Olli`s Update

Went to the studio 33 last weekend! Jake, zed and I spent 2 hours on Saturday evening and played thru our new material (well, only few years old crap). After training we took Jussi to a surprise party organized by 5star wife. Party was organized into Jussi`s brothers house and there were lot of friends celebrating Jussi s birthday. HBD Jussi !

Next day we planned to do 4 new tracks into the new EP, called ???. After 3 hours tuning the drumsound, I recorded the drums into 4 songs (coming soon, masturbaatio, Steve Harris, and 1 star guy 5 star wife). As it came along quite easily, we decided to record one more song called “wasting my time”. The audience (wili by himself) was very fresh indeed, hahahah! I quess the night before wasn´t for sleeping… Anyway I don´t remember having that much fun for a long time! Can´t wait to hear how it sounds like after some bass and guitars which will be recorded 1^st and 2^nd of May.

9.4. Ville`s update

So, it’s time to break the silence and your eardrums dear music lovers!
The Kroisos will record EP during this spring. Dadaa!
15.4. Olli is going to start his part at Studio 33.
Studio is exactly the same where we record our breaktrough album ”Panda Eyes” three years ago.
This time we are very well prepared. I had very intensive songwriting session with Jake couple of weeks ago at Jakes crib, (place where only magic happens). We talked 4 hours. After that jarkko drove me to restaurant Malja to get some musical ispiration. Day after that Olli, Jake And I, had a band rehearsal close to Jyväskylä. We didn’t play that much but we had nice 3 hour chat with The dudes.
I also heard that Olli, Jussi and Jarkko played together one time last winter but i dont believe this kind of BS.

There will propably be some dramatic changes before EP is out for real.
We are also still working with the EP title. lyrics, and music.

Anyways, This time we are not looking so produced sound as it was on Panda Eyes album. We want to get our live sound and feeling to the tracks. Im sure that the owner of the studio, Kimmo Hämäläinen is doing his best for not make this happen.

We are really excited and looking forward to have some fun! I’m quite sure that we can also make some musical things with K-boys in next weeks.

TOUR DIARY 2011

25.4. Wow, 5 days went by like shinkansen train. Surprisingly there was no updates during trip… All I can say, and I believe I speak for all of us, we had fun, man. less than 100 ppl in both places was not much but we played well, behaved well (before gigs) and survived without major setbacks. our friends in Paimio, Annukka, Pekka, Nikkanen and Järvinen were amazing for us.

Henry s Pub is the perfect place to play, because of the equipments they have and off course Kimmo. Kimmo is part of the band because of the role he had on Panda eyes-cd and because he is such a nice friend. He is the god.

In the end of our tour we hugged and made a promise to play at least one weekend every spring. If someone dies, tradition still goes on. It is not like we had big plans to conquer the world, it is more like five buddies gather to have fun with the thing they love. Isn t it how it was suppose to be in music?

Also we ve had nice discussions on doing cd. It might be in Finnish, might be done more punk way and faster. who knows.

Let s see. All we can tell is that we still play well. Nice to see that Kat had some videos too. Thanks. Next time you come to chat with us.

20.4.  10.25 p.m.

Rehearsals started on time and we had plenty of “splendiid” time to put our crap together. We played somewhat 4-5 hours and it didnt sound good… what can you do if it ends up perfect !

Seriously it was good session so we packed our bus and head down to Paimio in the morning. I might even ask my funny friends to write some words in here too.

How it will go with us and old broken bus for 500 km?

No one knows…

…but doesn`t tell.

10:20 a.m.

I am waiting for fellowclosetrockers to arrive in Kuopio.  Vili s coming by train from Lahti, Opa from Jyväskylä and Anaali from Lahti. Guitars and bass has been in Tonto`s hands. Tonto is the major guitar hero from DLX- music shop. Without him our sound would be a lot muddier.

I am facing with some serious health issues at the moment, blood pressure is 158/80. I guess I have to leave rock n roll lifestyle for other members of the crappy band of ours. I ll try to make it back to Kuopio.

We ve hired (like we had money heheh) new roadie. Welcome to the jungle, Jupe.  You dont know where you re heading…

So we ll play today 4-5 hours, gather to my apartment with Vili and Anssi for dinner and tomorrow morning at 10.00 we re on bus going to Paimio.  Now I am off to DLX to get one more guitar; maybe I ll show some guitarstring breaking so we ll need one in reserve…

18.4. yesterday was a day yeah. we trained 5 hours and made some demo recordings for V and anssi. Some circumstances were not in order but I think we will kick off well. Rock n roll is fun and we re surely making all we can to sound better than we ever could. We have few nice cover tunes that we re excited to show off. Some doubts about words but öördisköördis saves us always.

Let s stay focused. Soon it is the time.

25.3. (Jake)Tour is not yet set completely. Only 2 gigs confirmed, but many on the works. Few days ago we sat down with Ville and made some plans. Rehearsals have started so you could say we re alive and kicking. Anssi is coming into town today, so we ll practise some new cover songs… Jussi is in Spain, but all the others are in Kuopio this weekend so I try to get these people to shoot few pics for poster. Probably it wont happen but you can always try.

Easter is going to be fun, and that is all that matters.
